Makeup for the hot weather

We’ve had a bit of a heatwave here in the UK. It’s been reaching 30 degrees some days, which is just way too hot for me! I have been struggling with how hot it is, so have been switching up my makeup to ensure it doesn’t slide off in the heat. At this time of year, the best thing to do is invest in some waterproof makeup which won’t budge when you start to get a bit sweaty.

Base makeup

I’ve not been wearing foundation recently, I feel like it is just far too warm and I’d like to let my skin breathe. I have been going in with a light BB cream and then a concealer under my eyes. For concealer, I’ve been using one by Catrice lately. The Catrice True Skin Liquid Cover Concealer is perfect as it’s high coverage, so covers up my dark circles easily and it stays put all day. It’s waterproof so I don’t need to worry about it shifting about when I get too warm. I usually set my base with a powder which ensures that it stays all day.

Eye makeup

On my eyes, I’ve been keeping things simple. There’s nothing worse than having eye makeup running down your face and looking like a panda! I haven’t been using any eyeshadow, instead just using a bit of eyeliner and mascara. For my eyeliner I’ve been using this one by Physicians Formula – it has a brush nib, which makes it really easy to apply. It makes the sharpest wings and it stays in place all day. Even on the days when my hay fever has been making my eyes run, it’s stayed put!

I’ve also been trying something new and I’ve been using a white pencil eyeliner in my waterline to make my eyes look more open and awake. It’s not something that I’d usually try but I thought while I’ve had red eyes from hay fever, I should try it out! I have been using the NYX Faux Whites Eye Brightener. I went for the shade Honeydew which has a slight green tint, this means that it’s not as harsh as a pure white would be. I’ve been loving how wide awake it makes me look and it stays in place all day too. Even with watery eyes!

Have you been switching your makeup up in this heat? What new products have you tried?
