Self care essentials

In the winter, all I want to do is hibernate and have a good pamper. Especially when it’s freezing like it has been the last couple of weeks. I tend to take a lot of baths and spend my evenings really looking after myself. Here are a few products that I’ve been using in my winter self care routine.

When it comes to shaving, I tend to avoid it in the winter as I get such dry skin. Shaving my legs just seems to make them irritated, dry and itchy. Luckily, I’ve managed to find a great combination from Gillette which means I can keep my legs smooth with none of the irritation. I have found that using decent razors can make such a difference – the Gillette Venus razors has a moisturising strip which makes it much easier to shave.

Another great product from Gillette is the shaving foam. This is something that I haven’t really used before and I have no idea why. When you apply a shaving foam, it makes it so much easier to shave. Your razor just glides over your skin and you get a really close shave. My legs always feel much more moisturised afterwards and so smooth.

Another product that I use in the shower is the Color WOW Color Security Conditioner. This SLS free conditioner is made for coloured hair, it helps to stop any fading and also leaves your hair feeling so soft. This is the first product that I’ve tried from Color WOW but it definitely won’t be the last! As well as leaving my hair feeling wonderful it also has a great scent and my hair seems to feel fresher for longer.

The final product is a decent lip balm. I always seem to forget about my poor lips in the colder months and they end up chapped and sore. Investing in a decent lip balm really helps. I’m currently using this one from Nuxe from the Rêve de Miel range. It’s so affordable but really moisturising. I keep it with me all day and make sure I reapply regularly. It contains beeswax, shea butter and Vitamin E which really helps to save my lips.

How are you practicing self care this winter?
